This RISO CLUB archive edition features four original risograph artworks from Damascus, curated by Kinda Ghannoum.

Each Postcard Set is printed by hand using layered colour separations and rich soy-based inks on recycled paper. Each design explores the playful textures and colour overlays unique to risograph printing.

Besh is a Syrian architect and illustrator based in Berlin. He has always enjoyed the medium of digital painting and the way it transforms onto paper. Combining his passions for architecture, digital art, and fine art printmaking, he offers many colorful interpretations of iconic buildings. His work aims to capture how these structures, whether intentionally or unintentionally, shape and define the places we live in and inhabit, as well as our experiences passing by and interacting with them and the spaces around them.

Kinda Ghannoum is a Syrian-Polish designer with a background in architecture. She graduated from Damascus University with a Bachelor of Architecture and later shifted her career to graphic design to pursue her passion. She completed her Master of Visual Arts at Sint Lucas Antwerpen. Kinda's work focuses on developing branding identities, typography, and research. Deeply rooted in Arabic and Islamic art, her designs celebrate her cultural heritage by incorporating Arabic typography and patterns, offering a fresh perspective. Throughout her career, Kinda has collaborated with international entities such as the Obama Foundation, Netflix, Domestika, and TEDx. She is also the co-founder of the Syrian Design Archive, a non-profit project archiving Arabic typography and graphic design in Syria.

Kinda is a Syrian-Polish designer with a background in architecture, who's designs celebrate her cultural heritage by incorporating Arabic typography and patterns, offering a fresh perspective.

Nadine Ghannoum is a Syrian-Polish motion and graphic designer based in Wrocław, Poland. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts/Graphic Design from Damascus University. Her continuous artistic exploration through workshops and exhibitions enriches her creative perspective.

The rich history and culture of Damascus inspire Nadine's illustrations, reflecting her unique mindset, heritage, and passion for art. Additionally, she co-founded Corners, a Digital Marketing Agency in Poland

Leen Albaz is a graphic and visual designer based in Dubai. She holds a high-honors Bachelor's of Science degree in Visual Communications from the American University of Sharjah. Her interests include experimenting with Arabic typography through various design tools and media. Leen’s research focuses on identity, culture and social topics relevant to the Arab region. Her work highlights the sense of longing and belonging to her home country.

Ranim Halaky is a Syrian/Lebanese Graphic Designer and Visual Artist, who graduated from the American University of Beirut with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design in 2015. The designer/artist’s approach emphasizes the use of typography as a visual element in a contemporary and experimental way, blending culture, poetry, and storytelling. Ranim’s work and research vary from print to 3D objects and experiences in space, leading to experiential designs.
Ranim’s artistic research and experimentation on Unheard Voices metal installation series started in 2015 and continues with experiential and expressive public and privately commissioned installations. With the most recent, Conversations Through Time, a permanent installation where the past continues to speak to the present. This installation was awarded the international D&AD award for best in category in Environmental Typography.
The independent designer/artist is currently based in Dubai, UAE.

Rama Duwaji is a Syrian illustrator and animator based in Brooklyn, NYC.

Using drawn portraiture and movement, Rama examines the nuances of sisterhood and communal experiences. Through this lens, she has worked with a variety of clients, most notably the Washington Post, BBC, Apple, Spotify, VICE, and the Tate Modern. She has also taught workshops on both illustration and animation alongside It’s Nice That in 2021.

Though mostly working in the digital medium, Rama often takes a break from all things technology to create hand-built ceramics. She combines her love for illustration and pottery to create handmade, illustrated plates. In 2024, Rama will receive her MFA in Illustration from the School of Visual Arts.
