R. Cañero (often referred to as Ricardo Cañero) is a Madrid-based illustrator and painter whose work is defined by a bold, expressive, and distinctly contemporary graphic style. His practice often explores themes of intimacy, youth culture, and everyday domesticity, frequently rendered through a lens of soft-yet-vibrant colors and simplified, slightly distorted human forms.

His aesthetic bridges the gap between traditional painting and modern editorial illustration, characterized by rich textures and a poignant, observational quality. Beyond his original paintings and personal projects, his work has been featured in various cultural publications and zines, establishing him as a prominent voice in the Spanish independent art scene. He frequently makes his work available to collectors through limited-edition prints and original canvases.
