Risograph Postcard Set: French Islands

Margaux Bigou was born in New Caledonia and draws on her island origins as she creates her illustrations and murals. She is influenced by street art, tattooing, and counterculture, and seeks out her creatures hiding under shells, buried in warm sand, or lying in the depths of the sea. Her slippery and melancholic monsters can’t stand the heat and take refuge in experimental editions that blend screenprinting, riso printing, and patience.

Having grown up in the tropical Reunion Island, Inès is now an illustrator and graphic designer who currently lives and freelances in Glasgow.
Like other creatives, the use of risoprinting has had a strong impact in her recent work as she aims to explore and push the boundaries of colours the machine can allow.

Lucie Parkes, born under the grey London wallpaper is an illustrator and graphic designer, for the young but also suspicious jokes lovers. She works today in Paris, mostly for the press, under the same kind of opaque sky. Skin tanned by Reunion island, she goes back to her white white face twenty years later in Brussels, where she studies at La Cambre. Then, Montreal and recently French Guyana, to draw pictures mixing beavers and snakes. She also animates workshops for kids and has a nice collection of carnivorous plant (two hobbies that don’t have links - apparently).

I am Pamani Missotte, a photographer and graphic designer currently working as Free-lance in New-Caledonia. I was born in Noumea and I studied in Paris at Penninghen school. After my master’s degree, I decided to come back to my island to work. The attachment to my culture makes me want to value it. In my artistic work, my goal is to contribute to a better recognition of our melanesian culture.
