What is Risograph Printing?

Who is Gabriella Marcella?
+Gabriella is a designer and the founder of RISOTTO Studio, one of Scotland's longest-running Risograph specialists. Through her studio, she has collaborated with major brands such as Apple, MINI, Puma, and Pinterest, as well as on projects ranging from public art commissions to exhibition design.
What Will I learn in the Course?
+In the online course, you'll learn the fundamentals of Riso printing and explore a new outlet for your art. Gabriella teaches you the basic techniques before walking you through the design and production process from start to finish. Play with color, composition, patterns, and stencils to transform your creative ideas into beautiful printed products.
Can I take the course at my own pace?
+Yes! It's all online, and you can complete the lessons at your own pace. There are 17 lessons, and it's around 2 hours of content. The Audio is Engilsh, but there are subtitles available in Spanish, Portuguese, German, French, Italian, Polish and Dutch!
What is this course's project?
+Design and print a risograph calendar using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
Who is this online course for?
+Anyone interested in exploring the Risograph technique, as well as illustrators, designers, and artists who want to turn their artwork into beautiful printed products.
What are the requirements and materials needed?
+A working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator is required for this course. As for materials, you need a computer with these two programs and access to a Risograph printer (this could be local, or you can use our services - and we will ship your prints to your address).
What will be covered in the lesson plan?
+This course is a comprehensive learning experience! It covers an instructor intro and artistic influences, Risograph technical tips (from inks and stencils to print imperfections), the limitations of the process and where they can be pushed, as well as digital workspace setup, and print preparation for your project.
